A French very rare astronomical verge pocket watch with musical movement and one of the earliest noted music watches, circa 1790.
Silver case with reeded mid section, inside gilt and with case punch RP in rhombus; gilt verge movement with musical movement between the main plates, music on demand, lateral sliding bolt and signed “Romilly a Paris”; original white enamel dial with center seconds, subsidiary dials at 3, 6, 9 and 12 for day, time, date and moon, steel hands, small chips near the winding stems and signed “Dubourg Belesme”.
