Early oval Renaissance pendant watch with verge escapement

An extremely early oval Renaissance pendant watch, made by Jacques Le Viaille (Vieille) in Angers, France, circa 1625. This oval full hunter cased pendant watch is crafted from brass gilt, silver and has a hinged lid. Both sides of the case are engraved with scenes representing a goddess in the foreground and a city view in the background. The very beautiful silver relief dial has Roman hour numerals and an iron heart hand. The oval movement is driven by gut string and has a verge escapement with stackfreed.
The movement is signed.
