An extremely rare Louis XV-style coach clock with experimental escapement, a variant of the Debaufre escapement, circa 1770.
Plain silver case, back with two winding holes for movement and striking mechanism, case number 226, and master’s mark GAM. Extremely beautiful preserved enamel dial with Roman radial hours, outer minutes track with Arabic five minutes numerals, and very beautiful hands Louis XV-style hands. Full plate movement, extremely rare escapement, variant of the Debaufre escapement, and half-hour striking.
