A Swiss gilt metal and enamel open faced watch, circa 1800, with gilt full plate fusee and chain movement and pierced, engraved balance cock. It has a white enamel dial with Arabic numerals and an aperture for winding. The gilt metal case has a case back featuring a painted enamel maiden contemplating her lover’s picture. The blue enamel surround includes putti and floral trophies, with ‘Souvenir’ within a railing above two doves in flight. The dial and movement are signed; the case is signed Leton.
