An interesting and extravagant English verge watch with self striking hours a toc et a tact, so-called clock watch by William Venables Buckinghamshire, circa 1810. A very heavy silver case with peripheral sound openings, bell, striking train with lateral muting device, self striking hours on bell or on case, extravagant verge movement with two separate windings for wheel train and striking train, enamel dial with seller’s signature Russel, extravagant pink gold steel hands, movement intact.
