A very fine Italian 18 carat gold open faced verge pocket watch with chatelaine, circa 1780. Full plate verge movement, a chain and fusee, three arm brass balance, pierced and engraved balance cock and Egyptian pillars. White enamel dial with Roman hours, outer minute track, Arabic five minute numerals and an original hour hand set with diamonds, the minute hand is missing. A particularly elaborate four coloured gold relief case. Comes with a decorative matching chatelaine with seal and key. Movement signed and numbered.
