Beetle-form lever watch

An extremely fine and rare French 18 carat gold and enamel pocket watch in the shape of a beetle with concealed dial, circa 1950-1960.
The case is a very detailed representation of a beetle with multi-coloured enamel, the wings covered with engine-turned translucent green enamel and the eyes set with emerald. Silvered dial with baton indexes, an outer minute track and gold baton hands. A manual winding lever movement manufactured by René Petit, Paris.
