An exceptional French gilt open faced verge pocket watch with concealed enamel scene, circa 1810. Both bezels are engraved, the band with lavish floral decoration, the case back with a miniature enamel painting depicting a girl with two kittens partially covered by a lid in the form of a draped window, an opening hinge for revealing the painted scene fully. White enamel dial with Breguet hours, outer minute divisions and blued Breguet hands. Frosted gilt full plate movement, keywind, chain and fusee, squared baluster movement pillars, three-arm brass balance, pierced balance bridge, signed.
