Brass and mahogany chronometer by Breguet & Fils

A French, well kept, large ship’s chronometer, Circa 1829. With the original correspondence of the Breguet company from the years 1947 and 1978 and original key No. 4488. Sold to Monsieur Ducom for the price of 1100 Francs on March 19, 1829.
The case is a heavy mahogany box with applied handles, lid and slide, case key and oval shaped gimbals. The silvered dial is signed and numbered and has radial Roman hours and minutes at “12”, large auxiliary seconds, a winding hole and blued spade hands. And the brass movement has an ellipse shaped escapement, with round movement pillars, a barrel, an applied platform with spring detent escapement, tripod adjusting device for the balance spring, a heavy chronometer balance with 8 screws, a helical balance spring and diamond endstone on balance.
