–
A rare French one-handed verge pocket watch with alarm, circa 1690. The watch features a silver case with a pierced border, a rear bell, and a large lateral hinge. The silver Champlevé dial displays inlaid Roman numerals, a central alarm disc with Arabic numerals, and an engraved gilt hour hand. The movement is a fine, keywind mechanism with a fire gilt finish. It is signed and designed as a full plate movement with a chain/fusee system. The movement showcases an engraved barrel for the alarm, baluster-shaped movement pillars, one hammer, a three-arm brass balance, and a silver balance bridge that is florally engraved and pierced.
