A rare French silver open faced quarter repeating verge pocket watch with two Jacquemarts, circa 1780.
Polished case, reeded band, case maker’s mark CHFB, a pusher for repetition through the pendant. Small white enamel dial with Arabic hours, outer minute divisions and blued Breguet hands, the outer border with an applied three-colour gold bell-ringing couple in Roman costumes on a cobalt blue enamelled ground. Fire gilt engraved full plate movement, keywind, two hammers, two gongs, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance and a pierced balance bridge.
