Silver open faced verge clock with alarm
–
A very complicated and technically interesting Hungarian coach clock with quarter-hour self-striking, quarter-hour repeater and alarm, Nicolaus Kölbel a Budapest, circa 1750-1790. A silver case with sound holes, original ray skin leather, back with rotating disc to close the 3 winding holes, case band with very unusual little button for repeating on demand, very fine, highly complicated verge movement with 3 barrels for self striking & repeating, alarm and movement, enamel dial with central silver alarm disc, gilt hands. The clock is in a very beautiful condition and is fortunately in full working order including all complications.
