Jean Régis was awarded a gold medal in 1900 for his invention of an electromagnetic regulator which had a power reserve of 5 years. He used a repeater mechanism in this pocket watch, which was designed by Alfred Lugrin (1858-1920). Lugrin gained his expertise at Jaeger-LeCoultre in Le Sentier and specialized in the manufacture of chronographs, stopwatches, and watches with repeater striking mechanisms.
