A remarkable, heavy, thin Cartier pocket watch “Mysterieuse” with the original matching 18k white gold Cartier watch chain produced in a small series, here No. 1, circa 1980.
18k white gold case, polished. Eccentric chapter ring with inlaid radial Roman numerals, blued Breguet hands. Rectangular movement, rhodium-plated, “fausses côtes” decoration, 17 jewels, aperture below the train for sapphire discs holding the hands, monome- tallic balance, blued balance spring, shock protection for balance.
