Gold open faced cylinder pocket watch

A rare English 18K gold pair-cased quarter repeating pocket watch chiming on a bell, circa 1795. Outer: two-body, engine-turned pierced and engraved reverse to central flower motif, pierced and engraved bezel. Inner: Pierced and engraved foliate pattern to central Phoenix bird, aperture for winding. White enamel dial with black Roman numerals, outer minutes with 5-minute Arabic numerals and gold beetle and poker hands. A gilt full plate movement, turned pillars, fusee with chain, cylinder escapement, three-arm steel balance, fl at balance spring, single footed balance cock finely pierced and engraved with foliage and phoenix, diamond endstone, silver regulation dial. Chiming via two polished steel hammers on a steel bell. Dial, movement signed and dust-cover signed. Case with makers stamp IW.
