Gold Glashütte pocket watch with engine turned back

An early pocket watch made by A. Lange & Söhne in Glashütte near Dresden, Germany, circa 1896. The numbered case of this watch was crafted from 18 carat gold and has an engine turned back. The original stepped white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, outer minute divisions a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock and blued steel hands. The movement has an A. Lange & Söhne precision lever escapement, a fine adjusting device, gold lever and gold escape wheel.
Case and movement have matching numbers, case, dial and movement are signed.
