A rare one-handed coach clock with hour self strike, circa 1660.
Brass case, firegilt, open work walls with oral engraving, the bottom with an engraved view of a town in the centre, rear bell. Brass dial, firegilt, orally engraved centre, radial Roman and radial Arabic hours, single iron hand. Full plate movement, keywind, applied oral decorations, signed, chain/fusee, engraved barrel, baluster-shaped movement pillars, locking plate for strike mechanism, 1 hammer, verge escapement, two arm iron balance, very finely florally engraved, pierced balance cock, hog’s bristol regulation.
