The watch is in excellent condition with its original box and original papers. The size and weight of the full hunter case are impressive, in the style of Glashütte anchor chronometers. The dedication and the two monograms WR and OM indicate that it is the clock of the Berlin architect Wilhelm Riehmer, the builder of the listed residential complex, Riehmers Hofgarten, Probably a gift from his partner Otto Mrosk for completion in 1899 – a piece of Berlin history! In addition to its interesting history, this watch is also very interesting for collectors. Very few Union watches were built of this quality and with the complication of a minute repeater. They are much rarer than comparable pieces by Lange & Söhne
