A German rare gold graduate’s piece – a masterpiece – made at the Deutsche Uhrmacherschule Glashütte, circa 1926.
Polished 14-carat gold case. Enamel dial with radial Arabic numerals, outer minutes track, subsidiary dial for the seconds, and spade hands. 3/4 plate movement, gold screw compensation balance. Dial and movement signed.

Kurt Weirich received an award for an exquisite school watch with fine decorations and lavish gold chatons at his graduation ceremony at the German watchmaking school in April 1926; Weirich shared the prize with Hans Apel, one of the famous tourbillon makers trained by Helwig.
