An interesting German silver half hunting cased keyless pocket watch in Glashütte design made by Paul Behrens in Dresden, circa 1904. This piece was possibly a royal present watch. Numbered engine turned case with gold hinges and winding crown, the front cover with radial black Roman hours and an inner minute track on a brushed chapter ring, a central monogram on the reverse. The cuvette is monogrammed GR with a royal crown above and reading The second best shooter 1904 underneath. White enamel dial with radial Roman hours, an outer minute track, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and gold double spade hands. Signed Glasshütte type precision lever movement with ¾ plate, a swan neck fine adjustment and an anker and escape wheel made of steel.
