A historically interesting pocket watch made by Friedrich August Adolf Schneider in Glashütte, Germany, circa 1860. The numbered case of this watch, crafted from silver, features exceptionally fine engine turned decoration on the back, a coined band, plain, stepped bezels, gold hinges and bow, and a further engine turned cuvette with a vacant cartouche. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, outer minute divisions and steel spade hands. The movement is equipped with an early Glashütte precision lever escapement.

The item presented here is an historically interesting Glashütte watch made by F.A.A. Schneider from around 1850/1860, but only sold around 1890, shortly before the company went bankrupt. A true piece of Glashütte history.
