Table clock with off center dial
–
A very rare table coin clock “Patrona Bavariae”, made in Germany, circa 1900. This watch features a silver case with the maker’s mark “KF” and a stand, winding mechanism and hand setting on the reverse.

The face of this watch features an outer decorative border engraved with the French motivational phrase “À toutes heures bonheur” (“Happiness at All Hours”). Encircling the very edge are nine small, colourful ladybugs crafted with vibrant orange, red, and blue enamel. At the centre is a depiction of the Virgin Mary seated among the clouds with the Christ Child on her lap. Bold, textured rays emanate outward from behind the figures, while the words “Patrona Bavariae” (“Patroness of Bavaria”) surround the central scene.

The off center white enamel dial at six o’clock features an outer track for minutes and hours, Roman hour numerals and two dark metal hands indicating the time. The movement of this watch is a miniature, round watch movement with a cylinder escapement.
