A gold and enamel, key-winding Empire pocket watch with wandering automata, circa 1800-1810.
Round-shaped, 18-carat yellow gold and enamel case, with wandering automata (aperture at 9 o’clock) on the backside. False-plate polychrome enamelled with champlevé décor showing, on the right side, two birds of paradise making their courtship display at the bottom of a tree where the female is perched, and, on the right side, an animated fountain. Enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minutes track, and blued steel hands. Full plate, gilded brass movement with going barrel, verge escapement, monometallic balance (gilded brass), and blued steel flat hairspring.
