Heavy gold chronograph

An English center seconds chronograph in a substantial full hunter gold case, hallmarked Chester circa 1907. Gilt three-quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. English table roller lever escapement, screwed in jewelling. White enamel dial with center seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, and gold hands. Substantial plain 18-carat gold full hunter case, plain gold cuvette. Small gold slide in the band to stop the watch acting on the balance. Maker’s mark ‘BD’ in a rectangle and number corresponding to that on the movement.
