Gold hunting cased lever pocket watch

A Swiss 18K pink gold keyless hunting cased pocket watch with chronograph and semi-instantaneous 30 minute register, circa 1906. White enamel dial, Dauphine numerals, outer minute/seconds divisions divided into fifths, outermost fifth second timing scale, sunk 30-minute register, constant seconds and gold spade hands. A frosted gilt movement, 3/4 plate, 18 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometre regulator, the chronograph work is set on a separate plate fastened to the back plate. Dial, case and cuvette signed. This watch is sold with a box and certificate of authenticity.

Omega was one of the first watch manufacturers to employ a modular system in the manufacture of chronograph movements. This allowed them to use various non chronograph movements while adding a separate plate with all of the chronograph work to the back plate of the movement. This system, which is widely used today, was revolutionary at the time.
