The exceptional Ref. 942/2 is a unique piece showcasing Patek Philippe’s technical mastery while recalling the firm’s most vaunted historical achievement. This Grand Complication model in pocket watch format brings to mind the Henry Graves, Jr. Supercomplication. Sold by Sotheby’s in 1999 and again in 2014 for an untouched record of $24 million, the 1932 watch holds a mythical position in the eye of collectors.
Indeed, the present watch’s obvious reference and tribute to that famed watch places it among the most important pieces Patek Philippe has produced. The Grand Complication clockwatch, featuring 12 complications, takes nearly 5 years from inception to completion of a single piece. The resulting masterpiece is a tour de force of the greatest watchmaking firm’s undisputed position at the apex of horology.
