Decimal time divides the day into 10 decimal hours, which in turn are divided into 100 decimal minutes. Each decimal minute is comprised of 100 decimal seconds. While decimal time was used over several millennia in China, the present lot is from France during the French Revolution when decimal time was officially adopted, although only for a very brief period.
