A fine Belgian 18K varicoloured gold quarter repeating pocket watch with à tact feature, circa 1770. A Louis XV case, the back decorated with a varicoloured gold scene of putto before a classical altar, swag border, outer pierced border with interlaced laurel and ribbon, and bezel decorated to match. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and large Arabic five-minute numerals and rose-cut diamond-set elaborate hands. A matte gilt, full plate movement, tapered cylindrical pillars, fuse and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, pierced and chased continental balance cock, silver regulation dial, repeating on a bell in the back of the case activated by depressing the pendant. Dial and movement signed.
