–
A large verge pocket watch for the Ottoman market with a tortoiseshell on the face made by Isaac Rogers in London, England, circa 1786. The open faced case is crafted from silver and has three cases, of which the outer case is decorated with tortoiseshell on the face and the back with a painted landscape scene, the second and the inner case are plain, numbered and bear Hallmarks London 1786. The original Ottoman silver dial has blued steel hands. The very beautiful movement has an English verge escapement with typical pillars for the Ottoman market.
