Gold hunting cased pocket watch

A very fine, large Swiss, 18K pink gold, heavy, hunting cased, keyless pocket watch, circa 1906. Presented to the Spanish Modernist Sculptor Miguel Blay (1866-1936) by the Spanish residents of Argentina. Sold on August 2, 1907. Accompanied by the original Patek Philippe morocco fitted box, Bulletin de Marche from the Observatoire de Geneve, spare crystal and the Extract from the Archives.

Engine-turned covers, polished borders and band, the front cover with a central finely engraved foliate monogram MB. Dedicated hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Gold spade hands. A frosted gilt movement, bar calibre, 21 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, counterpoised straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, Patek Philippe patented micrometre cam regulator. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed.
