An unusual English silver key wind pocket watch with chronometer balance and lever escapement by Thomas Earnshaw, London, London Hallmark for 1835. Matt gilt 3/4 plate movement, Rack tooth lever escapement, heavy precision bimetallic balance with brass wedge weights. White enamel dial, Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds at 6 and gilt spade hands. Silver engine turned hinged full hunter case, personal engraving to cuvette. Case stamped ‘JM’.
