An English gold key wind verge consular case pocket watch with diamonds and enamel decoration by Jefferys Jones, circa 1790. Full plate gilt verge movement, pierced and engraved balance cock with grimacing mask, diamond end stone, fusee, baluster pillars, silvered regulation. White enamel dial, Roman numerals, outer Arabic numeral five minute markers, winding aperture at 6 and gilt spade hands. Embossed consular case, decorated with laurel leaves, bezel set with diamonds, polychrome painted enamel scene to reverse depicting a woman playing an organ with Putti reading and another looking on from a cloud, surrounded by green and red guilloché enamel borders interspersed with diamonds, stirrup form bow. Case stamped ‘M.T.’.
