An English gilt metal astronomical coach watch with triple calendar and centre seconds made for the Chinese market, circa 1790. Gilt full plate movement, verge escapement, three-arm balance. White enamel dial, Roman numerals, centre seconds, subsidiary dials for age of the moon, days of the week and regulator index, rear dial with Roman numerals, year calendar and signs of the zodiac with their own subdivisions. Engraved case with alternating red and white foil backed stones to both bezels. Dial signed William Pybus, London.
