A rare and impressive English gold and enamel oval shaped pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1800. Oval shaped gilt cylinder movement, trotting horse finely engraved to the barrel, diamond endstone. White enamel dial, Arabic numerals, minute-hand in the centre, subsidiary seconds and eccentric hour dial at 12 o’clock. Oval shaped case, polychrome enamel centred to the back depicting an antique vase with summer flowers on an intense blue background, both bezels finely decorated.
