A Swiss gold open faced musical repeating automaton pocket watch, circa 1820. Gilt full plate movement, cylinder escapement. Gilt cuvette. White enamel chapter ring, Breguet numerals, silver engine turned centre with three-colour gold automaton figures, the cupid striking the bell for the hours and the seated girl plays the mandolin when the music plays and blued steel moon hands. Engine turned case with rayon de soleil design, lever under the bezel selecting the music to play on the hour or to just strike the hours.
