An excellent and rare English 18K gold double-cased repoussé verge watch, circa 1790-1791.
Full plate movement with verge escapement, chain and fusee. Key winder, fire-gilt, signed, applied, florally engraved and sawn ornaments, square baluster pillars, three-arm steel balance, pierced balance cock with a noble coat of arms. The coat of arms shows a dwarf head between two scythes crowned by a crown. Signed: Harry Potter London. Enamel dial with Roman radial hours, outer minutes track with Arabic five minutes numerals, and steel hands set with diamonds. Signed: Potter London. Solid 18k gold double case. Inner case smooth. Outer case with a relief-like figurative scene.
