A fine and rare French silver open faced pocket watch chronometer, made in 1823, gilt brass movement with fusee and chain, Earnshaw spring detent escapement, Earnshaw balance with cylindrical spring.
Silvered dial with Roman numerals engraved and filled with enamel, blued Breguethands made by Jaquet, subsidiary seconds and outer minute track, silver polished case stamped with silver French hallmarks from 1819-1838 and the Joly case maker hallmark, copper gilt cuvette a bayonette secured with a screw, dial signed Breguet et Fils cuvette and movement signed Breguet HORLOGER DE LA MARINE ROYALE engraving made by Bouveret.
