Barraud & Lund was a partnership formed between Frederick Joseph Barraud and John Richard Lund in 1838.
Frederick Joseph Barraud was the second son of famous clockmaker Paul Philip Barraud. John Richard Lund was a horological inventor who had been apprenticed to the great chronometer maker John Pennington.
The partnership carried on the fine traditions of Paul Phillip Barraud with Lund applying for a number of patents, including an invention that sought to eradicate the problem of middle-temperature compensation by incorporating a mechanism with a bimetallic balance.
Frederick Joseph Barraud died in 1859 and John Richard Lund in 1868 with members of both families continuing the business thereafter.
