Gold astronomical pocket watch

A very fine, 18K pink gold Swiss, astronomical, keyless pocket watch with perpetual calendar and moon phases and lunar calendar, circa 1878. Accompanied by the Extract from the Archives. Made for the Spanish market, sold to A. Maurer on March 3, 1884. A polished bassine with inset hinges. Hinged gold cuvette.

White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer minutes track, subsidiary dials for days of the week, months, subsidiary seconds with inner red date ring, moon phase aperture with its age on the border. Blued steel spade hands. A frosted gilt movement, 18 jewels, wolf’s tooth winding, straight line lever escapement a moustaches, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Movement signed, retailer signature on the dial and cuvette.
