Gold enamel harp-shaped pendant watch
–
An unusual and rare gold enamel Swiss pendant watch studded with pearls, in the form of a harp with visible balance, circa 1820.
The striking pendant gold watch has an almost square body that sits on a rectangular gold plate studded with pearls so that the watch can also be used as a miniature standing clock. Extravagant gold enamel brooch decorated with the trophies of love: a gold love arrow, a burning torch and a laurel wreath. Enamel dial with Breguet numerals, outer minutes track with Arabic fifteen minutes numerals, and gold spade hands. Full plate movement, chain/fusee, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance.
