English double dialed astronomical sedan watch Circa 1790

A large English gilt metal and gem set double dialed astronomical sedan watch with sweep seconds calendar and moon phases made for the Chinese market, circa 1790. Gilt verge movement. White enamel dial, with three subsidiary dials including one for hours and minutes at 12 o’clock and a pair of dials below calibrated for date and with the words day of the month, the second dial calibrated from 0 to 30 and written ‘slower faster’, the reverse dial with mean time dial, Roman numerals and indications for the phases and ages of the moon. Bezel engraved with scrolls edged by alternating red pastes and seed pearl decoration. Dial signed.
