A historically interesting rarity, the Unfinished, with box & papers, made by A. Lange & Söhne in Glashütte, Sachsen Germany, circa 1947. This full hunter cased watch has a numbered case that was crafted from silver, has gold hinges and a monogram on the back. The white enamel dial has blue Arabic five minute numerals, black Arabic hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock and blued steel hands. The movement has an A. Lange & Söhne precision lever escapement in best quality 1A, screwed chatons, a gold lever and a gold escape wheel.

An extremely rare collector’s watch 352162 which is described in the history of A. Lange & Söhne as a “remarkable specialty”: An interesting representation of the difficult time of the new beginning is a movement of the former watch factory Glashütte i/Sa. AG (UROFA) completed by Lange in the spring of 1947, which the watch factory Glashütte i/Sa. AG (UFAG) was unable to complete due to its wartime production until 1945. The old company name of UFAG was removed and the company signature common for Lange watches was applied. Regardless of the fact that the watch was reassembled and finely finished by the company A. Lange & Söhne, the original movement remains what it always was: caliber two of the Deutsche Präzisions-Uhrenfabrik Glashütte G.m.b.H in Sachsen, which was taken over by UROFA and UFAG after their bankruptcy. The movement number 352162 of the UFAG and the 2/3 plate as well as the separate cock make it easy to recognise the movement caliber. This can also be proven by an artefact with movement number 351948, only 214 pieces back, which was still completed by UFAG. Considering that this movement was once made in tough competition with the watches made by Lange, it is a remarkable feature.
