A Swiss 18 carat gold keyless pocket watch with split-second chronograph, circa 1900. Made for the American market. A solid, polished case, a co-axial crown for the start/stop and return to zero of the chronograph, a button for the split-seconds at 11 and a hinged gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Arabic numerals, outer minute and chronograph divisions with five-minute red Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and blued steel spade hands. Rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, 19 jewels, the centre jewel in a screwed gold chaton, straight-line lever escapement, adjusted cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometre regulator. Dial and movement signed, case numbered.
