A Swiss 18 carat gold hunting cased keyless pocket chronometer with special compensation balance, circa 1920. Made for the South American market. Polished hinged case with cast decoration depicting two hunting lions with a tropical surround on the front. Push the button to open the front bezel. White enamel dial, Roman hour numerals and Arabic outer minute track, subsidiary seconds at 6, blued steel spade hands. A nickel movement, damascened in different patterns, 20 jewels, pivoted detent chronometer escapement, cut bimetallic two arm compensation balance with two gold ogival weights for temperature adjustment, four gold timing screws, diamond end stone, free sprung blued steel helical balance spring. The dial, case and the movement are signed.
