Moser was a legendary Swiss watchmaker, one of the first to realize the potential of electricity, which he employed in his factory in Schaffhausen. He also realized the potential of the Russian market where he became a Watchmaker to the Czar. The most influenced Russian jeweller, Faberge, primarily employed Moser’s movements in his clocks. It is very likely that this watch, made also by his son in the new factory in Le Locle, was destined for the Russian market. Moser’s house and large garden in Le Locle was bought later by Jürgensen and was frequented by artists, politicians and industrialists.

Signed: Henry Moser & Co.
