Gold hunting cased keyless lever watch
–
A fine Swiss 14 carat rose gold hunting cased pocket watch featuring a chronograph and quarter repeater mechanism, made by Dürrstein & Cie, circa 1900. This complex timepiece has a mechanical crown winding movement with a lever escapement, two hammers striking gongs, and a balance bridge engraved with U.S Patent APR 11.82. The white enamel dial shows black Roman numerals for the hours and an outer minute track with Arabic five minute markers. It has a central chronograph hand and a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, all completed by gilt Louis XV style hands.
–
The watch is housed in a substantial 14 carat rose gold hunting case. It features an engine turned geometric design on the outer covers, a polished inner base metal bezel, and a decorated gold inner cuvette signed Chronographe Repetition. It is complete with a fluted winding crown, a central chronograph pusher, and a sturdy round suspension bow.
