An extraordinary Swiss 14 carat rose gold hunting cased pocket watch made by J.J. Nordmann in La Chaux-de-Fonds, circa 1900. A magnificent case with engraved decoration of exceptional quality, the representation of a knight on the front and on the back, a knight’s armour with various weapons, both depictions surrounded by foliage and tendrils. Flawless white enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, sunk subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and rose gold Louis XV hands. A precision lever movement with fine adjustment similar to the Glashütte construction. Case and movement signed and with matching numbers.
