Gold open faced keyless lever watch

A fine Swiss 14 carat yellow gold open faced pocket watch made by IWC Schaffhausen, circa 1920. This watch has a mechanical crown-winding manual movement featuring a lever escapement, ruby pallets, a screwed centre stone, and a swan neck regulation system. The white enamel dial shows black Breguet numerals for the hours, an outer railway minute track with red 13 to 24 hour markers, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and blued steel Breguet style hands. The dial bears the International Watch Co. Schaffhausen signature across the centre. The timepiece is housed in a substantial three body, 14 carat solid yellow gold open faced case with a polished bezel, a fluted winding crown, an adjacent small pin set pusher for time setting, and a suspension bow.
