Pocket watch with brooch of a dragon with a pearl in the mouth
–
An extremely rare early Art Nouveau pocket and pendant watch with dragon brooch, made by LeCoultre & Co in le Sentier, Vallée de Joux in Switzerland circa 1900. The numbered open faced case of this watch is crafted from 18 Carat gold, has a dust cover with a later added gift dedication: Yvonne Duvivier, 6 Février 1927 and is textured on the back lid. The white enamel dial has black Arabic numerals and blued steel hands. The movement has a fine cylinder escapement and the associated gold brooch in the shape of a dragon is very detailed, with a pearl in the mouth and a ruby eye.
The movement is signed.
