Gold hunting cased watch with gold dial

A very fine and rare English 22K gold pair cased pocket watch, circa 1709. The inner case with London hallmarks for 1709-10. A polished, square hinge, the inner case with a deep back, polished, loose ring pendant. Gold, matte dial, champlevé radial Roman numerals, inner half-hour divisions, outer minute track with five-minute Arabic numerals on polished cartouches, chased centre with mask and scrolls. Blued steel beetle and poker hands.

Gilt brass full plate movement with divided Egyptian pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, finely pierced and engraved single-footed English cock with streamers, silver regulation dial. Dial and movement signed. Both cases with master mark WB.
